Meeting with Ałbena Grabowska
At the Volunteer Fire Station in Ludwinów, on 11 November 2022, the following took place an author meeting with Ałbena Grabowska, as part of the project entitled „COOLture is COOL. Improving access to culture and art in the Municipality of Jakubów and the Municipality of Stanisławów”, co-financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.
Ałbena Grabowska is a popular and acclaimed Polish novelist who owes her unusual, uncommon name, which means a blossoming apple tree, to her Bulgarian roots. The author owes her popularity among readers primarily to her bestselling saga „Stulecie Winnych”, on which a popular TV series was based.
During the meeting, Ms Ałbena Grabowska told the audience: what the beginnings of her work looked like; where she gets the ideas for her writing; what the writing process is like; what themes she explores in her novels; the story of the creation of “Stulecie Winnych” – where the inspiration came from, how long it took to write the series and how the popular film was made. The author also talked about her recent series „Uczniowie Hipokratesa”, her participation in author meetings and the impact of popularity and recognition on her private life.
The event was attended by nearly 60 people, including Ms Hanna Wocial – Mayor of Jakubów Municipality, representatives of the Voluntary Fire Brigade in Ludwinów, representatives of the Rural Housewives’ Circle in Ludwinów, and residents of Ludwinów and the Jakubów Municipality. This was another activity within the framework of the project, which aims to improve access to culture for the inhabitants of the Jakubów and Stanisławów Municipalities.
We would like to thank all the residents and guests for attending the meeting and invite them to participate in future meetings.
